What is Huntington's Disease?

      Huntington's Disease is a autosomal dominant brain disorder that is passed on from parent to child, (meaning it's hereditary), it is incurable but there are medications like Tetrabenazine and physical therapy that can slow down the process of the disease.  HD has many symptoms that go along with it for example the behavioral/emotional symptoms include anxiety, depression, social withdrawal, irritability and aggressive outbursts. The symptoms for Motor is uncoordination, difficulties with speaking, walking, swallowing and balance, and the most common is involuntary movements which is called Chorea. This disease can also effect your cognitive skills such as, memory and difficulties concentrating, and organizing. If you develop the disease then there is an expected 10-20 years to live.
